Verge Restaurant Review:
Stylish Verge inside the Toll House Hotel achieves go-to status with elements such as a spacious bar featuring handcrafted cocktails and craft brews, a garden-like outdoor patio complete with fire pits, and an energetic menu of fusion cuisine. Cocktails highlight house-made syrups, salts and infusions. A shot of Thai chile-infused tequila will clear your sinuses: better yet, get it in a Bloody Maria. Bar bites include "pork wings" --- ribs sporting such a lacquer-like glaze, you’ll be delighted that pigs can actually fly --- meatball sliders that offer up a taste of Italy and a wild mushroom cobbler, intense with Humboldt Fog and Parmesan. Try crispy Brussels sprouts with deviled egg, pancetta, balsamic vinaigrette, lemon zest, Sriracha and radish; octopus and pork belly; or onion dip with caviar and truffle oil, served with potato chips. Dinner entrées include buttermilk fried chicken, sautéed sea bass, braised lamb shank and loin, hanger steak, and a flavorful pork and duck burger. Save room for the mango tapioca pudding, like diving headfirst into a tropical fruit pond.
