Dining room at Via Alloro, Beverly Hills, CA

Via Alloro Restaurant Review

: Via Alloro is another upscale Italian restaurant from the Drago empire, this time from brothers Giacomino and Tanino. In a departure from the traditional European style décor one might expect, diners will find a modern space featuring a circular room as well as an outdoor patio. The menu includes starters like turkey meatballs with spinach and mozzarella, octopus carpaccio, and fried zucchini blossoms stuffed with ricotta. There are pizzas and pastas, as well as a large range of entrées. Branzino, or Mediterranean sea bass, is served in a sauce of black olives, capers and tomato, while whole Dover sole is simply oven-baked with lemon. Lamb chops come pan-roasted with spinach gnocchi, and baked sausages are served atop "Mamma Drago" tomato stew. Warm pistachio cake and cannoli stuffed with ricotta and orange mousse are among the top desserts. There is a lengthy line-up of artisanal cocktails, and the wine list is predominantly Italian.
