Viand Restaurant Review: Don’t come to this Upper East Side diner for the atmosphere---come for the famous turkey sandwich. And don’t worry: If you’re not in the mood for one there are plenty of other tasty options on the lengthy menu, including breakfast dishes like omelets and pancakes, lunchtime standards of soups and sandwiches, and hefty and juicy burgers that shouldn’t be missed. Other sandwiches, including the intriguing “bacon sandwich” as well as the more typical salami, liverwurst or boiled ham varieties, aren’t bad either. The staff can sometimes be brusque, but they’re also accommodating. |
