This elegant two-story eatery, with its floor-to-ceiling fish tanks, palm frond fans, soft lights, paper lanterns and polished cherry wood tables, makes for a special occasion or date spot, but it’s also good for a quick and tasty lunch. Authentic Vietnamese meals are best started with the large shrimp-stuffed spring rolls accompanied by a peanut sauce with just enough heat. And while you can’t go wrong with the soothing pho or fragrant clay pots, we're fond of the roasted duck with plum sauce and the fine seafood dishes, like the sizzling prawns and the stir-fried buttered lobster. But for sheer flavor, try the coconut curry chicken spiced up with red jalapeños. Vegetarian and gluten-free choices are available. Vietopia features a full bar and rather extensive wine list. There are a few desserts, but the best after-meal treat is the sweet and strong Vietnamese coffee made tableside. Despite the attractive surroundings, prices are very reasonable.
