THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Villa Rouge Restaurant Review:

Simply red, unpretentious, and in the heart of Montreal’s Village, this combination lounge-bar-restaurant features Italian and Mediterranean fare including usual pastas, veal and grilled dishes. The soft, red halogen lamps render the 65 (red) leatherette chairs and loveseats all the more funky. Appetizers include refreshing bruschetta and prosciutto melone, but the “soupes du jour,” particularly the vegetable creams, always hit the spot, day or night, hot or cold. Entrées run from hearty filet mignon brochettes and juicy filet of trout to the specialty---grilled, baked pizza. Tiramisu is a staple, but for maximum pleasure dig into the generous, lightly crusted servings of crème brûlée. There is draft on tap, of which Rickers and Blue are tops. Take a window seat for two on Rue Ste. Catherine to ponder the scene, and be sure to check out the bubbling Neptune and Poseidon fountain at the back.
