Village Green Restaurant Review: Village Green is housed in a Tudor-style building that evokes European charm. At dusk, the two small dining rooms are aglow with tiny tabletop candles. The creative American fare is informed with global accents from France, Italy, Asia and the Middle East; the menu is offered à la carte or as four-, five- or seven-course tasting menus. Dishes are flush with fresh ingredients balancing flavor, texture, temperature and seasonality while incorporating vivid presentations. The serving tempo keeps a good pace. Menu highlights include shrimp and Jersey corn risotto with smoked bacon, wilted arugula and roasted red pepper coulis; hickory-smoked salmon potato pancake with dill crème fraîche; and lamb kofta complemented by lemon garlic orzo, roasted garden vegetables and a well-made tzatziki sauce. For something sweet at the end of the meal, try peach and wild blueberry crumble with vanilla ice cream.
