THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Village Restaurant Review:
Stephen Lyle's American bistro is set, appropriately enough, in a Village townhouse. A large oval skylight that was uncovered and refurbished by the owners dominates the dining room. Fans of Lyle's cooking---he put ever-popular The Odéon on the map---will not be disappointed. There are bistro classics, like steak frites, and American classics, like a rich oyster pan roast. Though nothing about this spot is exceptional, it is the type of place that most people would be happy to have around the corner from their apartment. Though the fashion elite cause waits for tables, when they eventually tire and find greener pastures, Village will probably become the great neighborhood restaurant it seems destined to be.
