Vineria Cozzi Restaurant Review:

About the restaurant and décor: This cozy space's history dates back to 1848, when it was granted Bergamo's first license to sell salt and tobacco. Today, Vineria Cozzi encompasses a wine bar and two small dining rooms with red-and-white diamond-patterned floor tiles, café-style chairs, walls of yellow-ochre banded with green wainscoting, plentiful wine bottles and Commedia dell'Arte masks.

About the food & drinks: Start with the casonsei pasta, which translates to little britches, twisted like candy wrappers containing cheese, sausage bits and sage, in a rich sauce of butter and Parmigiano. Main dishes might range from beef cheeks in red wine with polenta to stuffed quail and smoked potato purée to marinated salmon. Sweet endings include chocolate mousse and tiramisu. The wine list features 300 labels.
