Vinoteca Restaurant Review

: The bar area at Culina Modern Italian has been transformed into Vinoteca, an Italian-inspired wine bar. Mirko Paderno, chef de cuisine of Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, has drawn on his Milanese upbringing to put his stamp on the menu of panini and pizzette. These small plates combine California produce and herbs with imported Italian ingredients, such as olive oil, mozzarella, specialty flour and prosciutto. Some highlights include a savory pizzette with Parmigiano, truffle honey, arugula and smoked mozzarella; fresh, handmade gnocchi with short rib sugo; tuna tartare with quail egg, watercress and Pecorino; and Raviolacci al Pomodoro, a ricotta-stuffed egg pasta with Parmigiano, San Marzano tomatoes and basil crumbles. In the morning, patrons can order coffee and house-made pastries such as cannoncini alla crema pasticcera.
