Vox Bar & Restaurant Restaurant Review: A cottage-style exterior leads to an elegant interior accented by white tablecloths and floral arrangements. Well-executed dishes feature creative twists on French classics. Start with a mousse of Hudson Valley foie gras with seasonal fruit compote and toast points, or a salmon tartare napoleon with layers of avocado, soy ginger sauce and a topping of triangle crisps. The entrée of "Cod Sous-Vide," with a sauté of napa cabbage, leeks, fingerling potatoes and spinach provides a taste of this specialized method of preparation. Meanwhile, the Long Island duck two ways, consisting of a honey-soy coated breast and leg confit with a "forbidden" black rice spring roll and apricot sauce, is representative of traditional European fare with some Asian techniques. Desserts may include crème brûlée and rum raisin bread pudding. French wines and other varietals make for nice pairings.
