We challenge you to find a dish at Walker Bros. that disappoints. Cooking everything from scratch accounts for the quality and, consequently, crowds on the weekends. The meats---ham, bacon, Canadian bacon, sausage---are custom cured in St. Louis and sent north weekly. Orange and grapefruit juices are freshly squeezed. Omelets are stuffed with vegetables that practically have dewdrops clinging to them. And those omelets, blended and baked rather than cooked on the stove, are among the fluffiest we’ve seen anywhere. But it’s the sweet items that keep us and most other regulars on repeat. The apple pancake is a wonder; the Dutch baby is meant to be adored; and the fresh blueberry pancakes evoke memories of childhood summers. As for the waffles, well, they’re good, too.
