THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Waverly's Steak House Restaurant Review:
A gracious maître d’ and a handsome lounge with a dark wood-framed wine cellar and a six-seat bar greet guests in this upscale steakhouse. Behind the bar, a second wine cellar serves as a divider for the spacious dining room, which is decorated with colorful still-life murals of fruits and vegetables. Comfortable booths ring the room, and white linens enhance the understated elegance. From the gleaming open kitchen, with its beautiful arched ceiling, we like the sweet lump crab cake with Creole mustard aïoli, roasted corn relish and jalapeño oil, and the she-crab soup with sherry. Waverly’s chopped salad is created with romaine, bacon, avocado and blue cheese crumbles, tossed in a creamy white dressing. Chicken breast is roasted with red potatoes, pearl onions, carrots and celery. Salmon can be prepared blackened or grilled. Broiled filet mignon, rib-eye, T-bone and prime rib are served with Waverly’s truffle beurre blanc, au poivre, béarnaise, bordelaise or creamed or straight horseradish sauce. Indulge with dessert options of crème brûlée, strawberry shortcake or chocolate molten lava cake. The versatile wine list, with 15 wines by the glass, and the array of cordials complement the cuisine.
