THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Weathervane Restaurant Review:
In more than one sense, The Weathervane is aptly named. When a cold nor'easter blows, diners are comfortably ensconced in dining rooms whose honeyed oak wainscoting, rag-rolled khaki walls and copper chandeliers are warmly intimate without being stuffy. When the southerly tropical breezes arrive, one of the loveliest patios in the area beckons. The inventive menu changes with the seasons, too, shifting from shrimp beignets and roasted halibut with marinated artichoke hearts to Caribbean pork pie and roasted chicken with buttermilk gravy as gracefully as a shift in the wind direction. Dedicated gourmets should allow a few minutes before or after the meal to explore A Southern Season, the nationally acclaimed gourmet shop to which The Weathervane is annexed.
