White Flamingo Restaurant Restaurant Review

: This charming, romantic restaurant boasts tables dressed with crystal and white tablecloths. A different soup is prepared daily and the owner grows herbs that are hand-picked fresh for each dish. We recommend the Flamingo’s ginger Mandarin salad with shrimp, or the tilapia meunière. There are also several beef and seafood selections, namely the 16-ounce porterhouse or filet and shrimp on a bed of rice pilaf. The house specialty is the pecan cobbler, which makes a good conclusion to any meal. A piano player entertains beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings. Weekend breakfast starts early, at 8 a.m., with a variety of standards from french toast to Texas favorites like grits and biscuits and gravy. But for the price, the best bet is an omelet plate that comes with a choice of hash browns, grits or tomatoes and toast, English muffin or homemade biscuits. Our advice? Go for the biscuits.

Big prices, bigger attitude

The food is OK at best, but surely not good enough to be worth the inflated prices. The steaks are everyday fare, nothing special, and pasta selections loaded up with butter and cheese for flavor. This place is full of the wrong attitude, don't waste your time or money.
