From the owners of the Pig 'n Whistle comes this hip reincarnation of Hollywood's old Crush Bar. Beneath a multi-tented roof lies a spacious patio with bar, dance floor, several sexy VIP rooms filled with Asian antiquities, and a trendy dining room with sushi bar, all designed in consultation with a feng shui master. Co-executive chefs Andrew Pastore and Hiroji Obayashi (Hirozen) collaborate on a menu loaded with influences from Japan, China, Thailand and France. The sushi is first-rate, as is the dim sum accompanied by non-traditional reduction sauces. We've been pleased with main courses such as a spicy Thai coconut bouillabaisse, nori-wrapped ahi tuna tempura with lobster-ginger sauce, and striped sea bass with a subtle curry sauce, while fried bananas or lava chocolate cake make dessert worth sticking around for. The bar stocks an impressive collection of sakés and the staff is knowledgeable enough to introduce you to various styles.
