| Extravagantly sized portions fill the inner soul, and the kitchen at this upscale steakhouse-with-trimmings determines that all patrons eat well. Everything except the refrigerator turns up in the chopped salad, the house specialty, touched delicately with a citrusy dressing; thank heavens you can carry home the leftovers for a second meal. Also noteworthy: the spit-roasted half chicken with its gleaming mahogany skin and side of veggies. And look for slabs of prime rib. We have tucked into the double-stuffed baked potato the size of a football; enjoyed the cheese-topped French onion soup; give a thumbs-up to the wild mushroom pizza; and had to give up on the ice cream sundae with its chocolate chip cookie base. When you want to splurge and are not counting calories, Wildfire offers plenty to pique your interest. It’s often crowded, so get there early or call ahead to reserve a table. The lines can be long. |
