| Wildfish’s San Antonio location offers diners fresh fare and knowledgeable service in a setting that’s dark, dramatic and, at the bar, occasionally even boisterously loud. The house specialty is fish flown in from all over, and it’s well showcased in appetizers such as the wok-seared and sliced Pacific ahi or the salt-and-pepper Gulf shrimp. Entrées evoke the Seven Seas with the likes of steamed Chilean sea bass, Georges Bank scallops sautéed with citrus, Gulf snapper meunière and swordfish steak with Jonah crab and a red chile vinaigrette. There is a short steak and chicken menu (think filets, rib-eyes and breasts with optional hollandaise or béarnaise), but seafood reigns supreme here. Pleasant outdoor seating is a plus, weather permitting. |
