| Wildflower’s food is essentially American: cheeseburger sliders, warm lobster salad with grilled asparagus, fingerling potato skins. Yet there are global influences. Sweet potato tortelli are tender rounds of stuffed pasta with touches of bacon, cabbage and sage. The forbidden rice side dish adds an Asian note. The wine program is a smart mix of bottles from small producers, many of which are American. Dinner is a winner, but lunch at Wildflower holds its own appeal due, in part, to the openness of the dining room with its huge skylight and chic mix of patterns and prints. Still, it’s the lovely patio, bathed in a golden glow from the overhead awning, that ultimately beckons, offering casual al fresco dining. |
