The Willows Restaurant Review

: Worlds removed from the cigarette smoke and slot machines downstairs, The Willows provides an oasis of calm, an elegant spot for Prime steaks and quality seafood. Chef Anthony Minniti kicks up the flavor of a 16-ounce New York cut with blue cheese-Cabernet butter. He adds a creative touch to his beef carpaccio, too, dressing the appetizer with a shiitake mushroom relish and white truffle oil. While seafood entrées like Australian lobster tail and seared Hawaiian ahi (panko-crusted and finished with plum sauce) are well-executed, it is somewhat disappointing that the menu features no local fare, given the high quality of Santa Barbara spot prawns, spiny lobster and fish like white sea bass and halibut. Local wines, however, are well represented, along with a nice selection of imports. Alcohol is prohibited downstairs in the casino, but a full bar is available here.
