Windansea Restaurant Review: Recovery from Super Storm Sandy is ongoing, but that doesn’t mean the kitchen at Windansea isn't busy preparing Jersey Shore favorites such as fresh roasted clams, soft-shell crabs and shrimp and scallop risotto. The raw bar is a treat, but then so are the steamers. Although seafood is fresh, preparations can be a bit heavy-handed, as with the lobster francaise. But the captain’s platter --- a mother lode of fried seafood --- or the stuffed flounder packed with a crab meat mix are all you might hope for at a seafood restaurant. Despite the emphasis on fish and shellfish, landlubbers will find much to savor from an extensive menu listing steaks, chicken dishes and even cheeseburger sliders. The price structure is high for the quality of the food, but there’s the attractiveness of the place and the views of the Shrewsbury River just above Sandy Hook. Hardworking staff will see to your every need.
