Windansea Restaurant Review: Jersey Shore favorites such as fresh roasted clams, soft-shell crabs, and shrimp and scallop risotto are all here. The raw bar is a treat, but then so are the steamers. There are enough good choices for those who seek lighter fare, from creative dinner salads to foods cooked with a mind toward lower fat and lower sugar. The house specialty is jumbo crab cakes, very “jumbo,” and not with breading, which is all to the good. Lobster mac ‘n’ cheese is a crowd favorite. It is not only a tasty pasta dish, it’s also a bargain. Despite the emphasis on fish and shellfish, landlubbers will find much to savor from an extensive menu listing steaks, chicken dishes and even cheeseburger sliders. The price structure is high for the quality of the food, but there’s the attractiveness of the place and the views of the Shrewsbury River just above Sandy Hook. Hardworking staff will see to your every need.
