Windows on the Green Restaurant Review

: At night, the Doral Golf Resort & Spa’s most upscale restaurant---a casually classy room with a panoramic view of the resort’s famous Blue Monster golf course---serves an elegant, though fairly limited, steakhouse menu. This includes beef and chops with a choice of classic sauces (béarnaise, green peppercorn, etc.) plus vaguely Caribbean and Continental-influenced creative, though non-cutting edge, fare: shrimp cocktails, crab cakes with rémoulade, a blue cheese-dressed iceberg wedge salad, et al. Diners desiring fireworks hit the place midday, instead, for a lunch buffet that makes dinner unnecessary---possibly for days. The spectacular all-you-can-eat spread features a custom carving station, plus separate stations for other entrées, antipasti, soups, sushi, cheeses, desserts and more. Also notable is Windows’ foolproof “progressive wine list”; the logical, intuitive listing, starting with mild selections and progressing to complex quaffs, makes it easy even for novices to order with a sophistication matching the setting.
