The Woodland Restaurant Review: This charmingly rustic restaurant with concrete floors and a faux tree "planted" smack in the middle of the dining room serves modern comfort food designed more for hungry lumberjacks than slim tree huggers. Stick-to-your-ribs choices we've enjoyed include the Woodland potpie, Black Angus meatloaf, a pulled pork sandwich with smoked cheddar coleslaw, and a side dish of mac ‘n’ cheese. Despite all the man’s man bluster, sensible dishes also provide satisfaction. The stuffed tomato with oyster mushrooms and toasted orzo and the Woodland salad are top choices in this category. The hipster lounge includes a menu of classic cocktails, the likes of which fit the modern-yet-retro ambience well. |
