Woodlands Restaurant Review: Despite its stark décor and cafeteria-style setting, Woodlands has a special charm, emphasized by vivid Indian paintings. The abundant menu begins with that South Indian favorite, idli (steamed rice and lentil patties). We like the good masala dhosa, a rice-flour crêpe stuffed with potatoes and herbs---the South Indian answer to french fries. Try the Mysore Royal Thali (dinner special), which includes samples of appetizers and main dishes. Whatever else you do, start with rasam, the traditional South Indian sour-spicy soup, a flavorful broth that will jar your taste buds awake. Desserts are predictable: rasmalai, halvah, ice cream and payasam.
