Woody’s Library Restaurant Restaurant Review: Formerly housing Carmel’s Carnegie Library, this historic landmark exudes charm. Old books fill the bookcases that line the dining room and even the menu reads like a book, complete with a preface giving the history of the building and a conclusion listing the tempting desserts. The menu selections, however, are contemporary and often creative, in dishes such as lamb shanks braised with habanero jelly with roasted purple potatoes. Team it with the suggested glass of wine. Bison meatloaf is a favorite among regulars, yet sugar-n-spice salmon with its apricot fennel glaze and side dish of sautéed broccoli and radish sprouts is hard to ignore. Finish the last chapter of the meal with raspberry Romanoff, a refreshing ending of vanilla ice cream blended with berries, liqueur and a drizzle of chocolate. This is one library you'll want to check out often. |
