World Curry Restaurant Review: This Pacific Beach eatery lives up to its name, as World Curry has ten different curries from various countries. The international menu combines various vegan, meat and vegetarian curry dishes from India, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, England and the Caribbean. When served with jasmine rice and a crisp salad, these sauce-laden items are the ultimate comfort food. In addition, fresh-baked naan, yakitori skewers, Thai satay and yogurt-marinated tandoori chicken grace the eclectic offerings. Samosas and curry puffs (vegetables, cream cheese and curry in an egg roll wrapper) are nice bites, too. We suggest trying the Mulligatawny soup, a British Raj-style curry chicken soup that's rich with flavor. We also like the volcanic vindaloo, the coconut-infused panang, and the mild creamed spinach. Clientele determine how mild or how much heat they want via a four-step scale. A Japanese Sapporo or Singha from Thailand are a cool yin to the yang of the food’s heat. Coconut ice cream is a refreshing finish.
