| Sip a cappuccino or Cognac at this downtown location near City Hall, and you might just run into folks who work for the Mayor. Public servants and corporate sharks can schmooze comfortably. Coffee by day, bar by night? You bet. Xando has a split personality that seems to work pretty well. Sporting comfortable sofas and modern table seating, step up to the counter and order from a full line of coffee inspired beverages, and snack on grilled paninis, pastries, sandwiches or salads. After 4 p.m., Xando opens its full bar (which has been cleverly concealed behind a large mural) and switches from counter service to table service. Coffee-based alcoholic drinks, and the same food items are available until its late night closing. Kids are welcome during the day, but nights are reserved for a mature crowd. |
