Yamato Japanese Steak House Restaurant Review: Yamato welcomes all ages and family members to partake of a Japanese meal, from sushi to meats cooked on a central grill with the chef doing his knife-juggling routine and other antics sure to please the kids. You can settle around a U-shaped hibachi to watch the chefs at work, belly up to the bar or, if you’re feeling less social but slightly exhibitionist, opt for one of two booths in the front window. Presentation is key here, so look for pretty sushi, and watch everyone relish the steak and salmon dishes (seafood yakisoba is a favorite). Even the kids will like their vegetables, all wrapped up in a tempura batter and flash-cooked until crunchy.
