| Yas means garden in Farsi, and entering this restaurant is very much like entering a tranquil garden. Although this is not a million-dollar palace, the soft lighting, white-and-peach color scheme and fresh flowers are all soothing. The food also leaves a good impression. We like the puréed eggplant appetizer, a silky concoction to be scooped up with wedges of pita bread. The salad of choice is composed of chopped cucumber, onions and tomatoes with a lemon and olive oil dressing. Plates of kebabs come with a hillock of beautiful, fluffy jasmine rice bathed in butter and served with grilled tomatoes. Gooey honey and nut pastries and strong coffee or mint tea make a strong impression as a final course. |
