This intriguing Middle Eastern eatery in Adams Morgan is shaped and colored like a long red cigar with white stripes. An unlikely setting for interesting food, Yazuzu offers a cafeteria-style array of most of its menu items, which include hummus and baba ghanouj as well as apricot-braised lamb shanks and pomegranate-braised beef short ribs. There are several sides as well, including a zany dish of mashed potatoes with ginger and cardamom. We recommend the merguez wrap (the sausage is made on the premises).
