It is so easy to go on a culinary sleigh ride in this contemporary, casual establishment. Owner-chef Yoshi Katsumura loves to play the flavor-and-texture game, and he does so with great skill. Soups are silky and rich, pizzas are thin-crusted, house-made pastas are intense in flavor and the desserts are dynamite. A few standouts include a duo of oxtail spring roll and pork pot sticker with peanut and mango-cucumber sauces and grilled, honey-anise-glazed duck breast with three-mushroom salad, candied pecan and quail egg baked in brioche. Furthering the appeal, wines are reasonably priced, and the space is charged with the energy of those out for a night on the town. |
