THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Yu Restaurant Review:

Montana Avenue has gradually evolved from a sleepy collection of neighborhood-oriented shops to one of the city's most fashionable shopping districts. With its mix of decorative items---Moroccan lamps, long beige drapes hanging from the high ceiling, carved wooden screens, Asian artifacts and silverware---Yu is as stylish as the avenue. You notice the restaurant from the street, not by its sign, which does not exist, but by its massive Chinese façade and door. Asian fusion is the guiding culinary principle, mixing Thai, Chinese, Korean, Malaysian and Japanese influences throughout an extensive menu. In addition to a wide assortment of sushi and sashimi, you can start with Thai crab cakes, deliciously spicy ahi tuna tartare or Chinese firecracker shrimp. The pork chop, prepared Japanese style with ginger and grapefruit, is light yet flavorful, while the Bali-style red snapper presented on a long leafy plate is another good choice. Oh, by the way, if you were wondering what Yu means, it is just a play on words---its English homophone and Chinese for oil.
