Zengo Restaurant Review

: Mexican-born chef and restaurateur Richard Sandoval added an Asian accent to his modern Mexican repertoire for this chic restaurant and cocktail lounge that exudes a palpable sultry vibe. Boasting a lively open kitchen and a voyeuristic chef's counter that peers over Sandoval's culinary kingdom, it's an atmospheric restaurant that's always buzzing with convivial revelers. The vibrant ceviches are irresistible (we recommend ordering the ceviche sampler), while the sushi rolls, charred tuna wonton tacos and fried rice, pelted with shrimp, pork and duck, are equally noteworthy. There's an impressive selection of saké, an eclectic, Latin-leaning wine list, and more than 100 different tequilas, but the libations of choice are the mojitos (try the refreshing rum, mint and cucumber number). The $35 bottomless brunch, available on Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., has its own dedicated posse, and it's easy to see why: the price tag includes unlimited small plates and brunch cocktails, plus a stocked Bloody Mary bar.
