 This stylish bistro is indeed a wine lover’s mecca, with a lengthy list that includes an impressive number of Zinfandels. The menu pays tribute to the late chef-owner Nicolas Klontz with some Belgian classics, such as carbonnade and three different preparations for mussels. The basic menu is comprised of robust American dishes: buttermilk-fried chicken, a Zin burger, a “very adult” macaroni and cheese, and apple pie. Mindy Reed, wine director and co-founder of Zin, carries on Klontz's mission of coaxing the customers into more adventurous realms too, with seasonal specials and such bistro classics as rabbit in mustard sauce and veal sweetbreads with puff pastry. Her regular wine dinners show off her knowledgeable palate.
