Zinc Bistro Restaurant Review: Drawing inspiration from landmark bistros in Europe and the U.S., owner Terry Ellisor came up with his own rendition---a comfortable wood-floored, antique-filled charmer in Kierland Commons which encourages lounging at the zinc-topped bar or out on the patio (great for people-watching). Chef and co-owner Matt Carter, who has worked under Chris Gross, Michael DeMaria and Thomas Keller, is one of the hottest young chefs in the Valley, and his menu, which offers bistro classics as well as the occasional flight of fancy, shows off his creative and playful personality with tasty results. Try the blue cheese burger, the impressive (and slightly Frenchified) mac 'n' cheese, smoked salmon crêpes, skate salad, chocolate soufflé---really anything. At Zinc, it's all good.
