THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Zocalo Taqueria Restaurant Review:
The fresh flavors for which Zócalo became famous at its original Tenth and Piedmont location and its subsequent Decatur spot are here re-interpreted in a colorful, authentic ambience. Line up at the stand and order what appeals to you---and there are plenty of dishes that likely will. For a substantial opener, or even a light late meal, get the queso fundido (melted cheese), a large bowl of melted asadero cheese and its accompanying tortillas. You may order this already rich morsel with sausage and a whole host of other ingredients. Select from an assortment of very fine tacos to compose a meal, or opt for the generously apportioned parillada, consisting of grilled meats, peppers and onions under a light blanket of cheese. For dessert, pick up the home-style flan. Mexican beers are the ideal quaff.
