Zuma Sushi & Sake Bar Restaurant Review:

We suggest keeping things simple at this classy, contemporary sushi spot. Sea bass sashimi and spicy lobster salad are delectable enough, but the place loses points for the pink pickled ginger. The large vegetable hand roll is virtually a salad, crunchy and tasty, an ideal vegetarian option. Fried calamari roll was one of the clumsiest and least appealing versions of the dish we've ever been presented, with not much in the way of flavor other than from the spicy mayo squirted on top. Leave your sashimi or sushi composition in the chef's hands, and you'll do quite well. High points include the white tuna, a sweet morsel. A long saké list offers quality chilled selections, but the smallest serving is 300 ml. --- almost a half-bottle --- so bring friends if you want to indulge. A minimal wine list proposes some choices by the glass. Dessert is an assortment of ice creams. Best deal is the lunch combo, three rolls for $12.50 or the roll/sushi combo for $9.95.
