44 Degrees North Mountain Huckleberry Flavored Vodka

Idaho

When you hear Idaho you think potatoes, but the official state fruit is actually huckleberries. The 44° North distillery distills vodka out of Burbank and Russet potatoes and Rocky Mountain water, then blends in mountain huckleberries. (The water is sourced from the Snake River Aquifer, named after the river that Evel Knievel made famous by not jumping over it.) The freshness and tartness of the huckleberry is appealing on the nose, palate and the finish. The authenticity of the fresh berry is amplified by the slightly lower alcohol level of 35 per cent, compared to the typical 40 per cent (80 proof). You get perfection — strained or on the rocks.

Price: $36
