Appleton Estate 30 Year Old
Top 10 Spirits 2010
The revered Jamaican rum producer has released less than 1,500 bottles worldwide, so getting hold of one of these rare treasures might be a challenge. Those who manage to do so are in for something special. While it's been around for over 250 years, Appleton Estate has never sold a rum aged this long. There's an abundance of smokiness in this rum, as you might expect given it spent three decades soaking up woody goodness inside used Jack Daniels barrels. Notes of maple and orange are dominant, complemented by hints of ginger and grapefruit. A sipping rum of the highest order.
