'Tis the season to feast. It is the time of year when most people break their diet resolutions. An average Thanksgiving meal contains more than 3,000 calories. But they say the benefits of socializing and being with loved ones outweigh the detrimental caloric effects.

We have put together a vast list of the restaurants in the country serving a Thanksgiving meal. In this issue you'll also find wine recommendations for the feast, a cookbook suggestion to create your own tradition and much more. Enjoy!

Dining Out for Thanksgiving
Let one of these restaurants cook the meal for you this year: from Atlanta to Washington DC, here are the fine places serving Thanksgiving meals around the country.

Also look for holiday-related happenings and other foodie events in the local news/calendar sections.

We have pulled together for you the following list of wine recommendations to enjoy with your family during the Thanksgiving holiday celebration. Most come from the North American continent to highlight the creativity of regional winemakers.

If you're visiting in-laws for the Thanksgiving festivities you may want to check out some of the landmarks in this beautiful country: snow-covered Kivas in Taos, the Alamo in San Antonio, the Pantheon in Nashville, Motown in Motor City Detroit, the Wonders of the Windy City, or the French Quarter in New Orleans.

Sweet dreams under the watchful eyes of George. Here's a breath of stylish air for anyone wanting to get away from the cold, anonymous chain suites of which there are so many in the capital. They also offer great Fall/Winter specials.

We are excited to introduce our new lifestyle section. From the world of fine dining, travel and wines we are expanding into luxury spas, cars and shopping. Take a test drive in the all new 2004 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas, check out the best spas in the U.S. and elsewhere or shop till you drop.

Diana Morgan's handy book captures the Thanksgiving mood perfectly. She offers variations on the bird, all sorts of stuffing, an update on the—either dreaded or beloved—Jell-O salad, pumpkin cheesecake with gingersnap crumb crust, fennel and tomato gratin, all very simple and doable. We have vowed to give the persimmon pudding a try and to make a homemade cranberry chutney ahead of time.

As fall turns to winter, savor the bounty of top vineyards and raise a toast to Vintners' Holidays at The Ahwahnee in Yosemite Park, a picturesque Registered National Landmark. Now in its twenty-second year, this annual consumer wine series features an impressive roster of 32 acclaimed California wineries during eight sessions, taking place between November 10 and December 11.
