PLASTINATES MARCH INTO BALTIMORE AND L.A.

Body Worlds

Dr. Gunther von Hagens’s spectacular touring show Body Worlds, an anatomically correct exhibit of more than 200 plastinate cadavers and body parts, has marched its way into Baltimore's Maryland Science Center and Los Angeles' California Science Center.

If you’ve ever been curious about how the body works, you’ll be in for a real treat. Visitors receive a first-hand glimpse at the inner workings of real human bodies. Corpse displays preserved by a process called plastination provide life-size examples of digestive, skeletal, muscular and nervous systems.

The Maryland Science Center's presentation of "Body Worlds 2: The Original Exhibition of Real Human Bodies" features blackened smokers' lungs in comparison to healthy lungs, as part of the exhibit's "I Quit" program. California's "Body Worlds 3 & The Story of the Heart" exhibit includes never-before-seen whole body plastinates and a special first-time presentation of the heart.
