Audio-Technica ATH-ANC3 QuietPoint Active Noise-Cancelling In-Ear Headphones
Portable Noise-Cancelling Headphones for TravelersAudio-Technica has been around for quite some time, and is a trusted company for audio equipment. When we came across the brand's QuietPoint line of active noise-cancelling headphones for travelers, we were particularly interested in checking them out since we're always on the go. The headphones did not disappoint. The ATH-ANC3 in-ear model we tested was extremely portable and convenient for traveling. A sturdy and compact carrying case makes it not at all cumbersome to tote the headphones around on a trip. It works like a charm on an airplane, providing you are able to keep the ear buds in position in the ear canal (we had a little trouble keeping one of the buds in). Most people shouldn't have a problem with it, however, since the headphones come with three soft interchangeable earpieces in small, medium and large. There's even a two-pin airline adapter to plug into in-flight entertainment. As for audio performance, the headphones (which run on just one AAA battery for up to 50 hours of listening time) are said to reduce distracting background noise by 90 percent. They were engineered to create a comfortable listening environment in areas with high ambient noise (i.e. planes, trains and automobiles). After bringing them with us on an international trip, we find that the ATH-ANC3 headphones are indeed the perfect little companion for travelers.
