Bordering the North and Baltic Seas, the Kingdom of Denmark is one of the smallest countries in Europe and one of the oldest constitutional monarchies in the world. It's made up of the Jutland Peninsula, which shares the country's only land border with Germany, and many small islets and far-flung crown territories that include Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Copenhagen, the country's southernmost city and capital, is a modern Scandinavian metropolis graced with royal castles, parks, modern and ancient architecture, and the harbor where the famed Little Mermaid statue is on display.
CLASSIC CUISINE IN COPENHAGEN
Noma
Chef René Redzepi cooks up regional cuisine in this restored waterside warehouse that's been modernized by interior architect Signe Bindslev Henriksen. Many of the menu's ingredients come from other countries in the Scandinavian region and are presented in dishes like musk ox served with glazed beet roots, apple, and smoked marrow. |
