The circus has come to town for guests staying at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa on Kaanapali Beach. The talented acrobats, gymnasts and overall incredibly agile members of Cirque Polynesia perform six evenings a week in the Monarchy Ballroom. The modern-day show culminates into a 75-minute abstract performance blending contemporary cirque-style feats with Polynesian heritage and culture.

The high point of the show is a mother-daughter duo who are sixth and seventh generation members of the legendary high-wire Wallenda family. Reitta and Lyric perform various aerial stunts and feats, including "the perch," which involves Lyric hanging from a wire by one ankle, while twirling mother Reitta above the audience. The show also features a 19-year old contortionist, illusionists, live music and a "laugh-out-loud" interactive Polynesian warm-up.

Doors to the ballroom open a half hour before the curtain goes up at 7:30 p.m. and Cirque Polynesia tickets start at $65 for adults and $29 for kids 12 and under. Dinner show packages are also available. For more information visit www.cirquepolynesia.com or call 808-667-4550.
