COMO Shambhala Estate in Indonesia juxtaposes Bali's serene natural beauty with the modern amenities desired by discerning globetrotters. That means while you
are bathing in the beauty of your own tropical hideaway
amid forests, rice fields, mountain mists and water gardens, you're just a click away from
your stock portfolio and the latest blockbuster on TV.
Most importantly, guests find that every need at this private resort close to Ubud, Bali's cultural center, is met with minute attention with a staff-to-guest ratio of 5-to-1 and in an atmosphere of the utmost taste, comfort and elegance.
Guests can choose to stay in one of five residences or a complement of Villas. The residences—you can reserve a single suite or an entire residence—represent different cultures and areas in Indonesia, and are named after natural elements. The Tirta-Ening, or Clear Water, residence is transfused with the serenity of water and the meditative simplicity of Zen. Bayugita, named after the cooling breezes, boasts an infinity edge pool. Enjoying an ultimate tree house feel is the Wanakasa residence, representing the forest. A fire pit symbolizing the essence of its existence is lit every evening at the Tejasaura residence, while the Umabona is the estate’s most romantic habitation.
Guests of the residences will also enjoy a study/library (stocked with books, CDs and movies), a kitchen, spacious open-air verandas, uninterrupted views of tropical gardens and rice fields, a private Jacuzzi and an outdoor shower (in the master suite only), personal IDD telephone, satellite and cable TV, and a dedicated butler. The standalone Villa accommodations (whose particular brand of tranquility is summed up in names like Golden Space, Distant Mountain, Spirit Tree, Pure Moon and Bamboo Whispering) feature one, two or three bedrooms, and a trio of dual-bedroom Garden Villas have living and dining areas. Two single-bedroom Retreat Villas each feature a private therapy room for couples. All Villas include their own private pool.
At The Source, the resort’s unique health spa, guests can choose from a wide array of treatments (massages, wraps, baths, scrubs and more) and activities that include yoga, hiking, Pilates, water exercise and stress management classes. Retreats held by visiting masters are held throughout the year. Additional facilities include a lounge, an outdoor amphitheater and the Restaurant, featuring the New World cuisine of chef David King.
