The
Benjamin, a classic 1927 building |
The
former Hotel Beverly became The
Benjamin in 1999, a boutique-style hotel that debuted
as the first Executive Suite hotel in the Manhattan East Suite Hotels group. Since then The Benjamin has been
recognizing the needs of meeting planners and business
people with advanced technology and in-room amenities,
as well as living up to the expectations of all types
of travelers with its spa and wellness center, renowned
restaurant and, of course, its 209 lavish rooms.
Each
room features a custom-designed mattress with luxurious
linens and a selection of ten different pillows. Also
included are a dataport with computer, fax and modem hook-up;
high-speed Internet access, a TV web browser, two phone
lines, an honor bar and complimentary newspaper. Guests
enjoy use of The Benjamin's 24-hour fitness center, turn-down
service, same-day valet/laundry, concierge service, grocery
shopping, valet service, secretarial services and room
service from The Restaurant at The Benjamin, which serves Continental fare, or enjoy small plate items from The Emery Bar downstairs.
The
Woodstock Spa and Wellness Center offers a staff of licensed
therapists catering to your every desire by way of spa
services and treatments. Some of these services are even
available in your room. The spa experience begins in the
center's aromatherapy room with a footbath intended to
improve circulation and lymphatic flow. From there guests
may choose skin care basic procedures such as facials
and exfoliation, body rituals including massages and wraps,
beauty services and personalized treatments like relaxing
scalp and revitalizing eye. Relax in the center's steam
rooms, Vichy Shower wet room, or in a yoga or stretching
class.

The
suite |
The
Benjamin became New York's first hotel to be certified
as demonstrating a heightened level of environmental responsibility.
Having undergone a strict rating system by HVS International
and other organizations, it was determined that the hotel's
recycling and waste-management program, multi-level environmental
staff education program, conservation program for guests,
and use of post-consumer recycled papers set the hotel
apart from the others.
If
there was a doubt in any New Yorker's mind about what
The Benjamin would turn out to be, it has vanished with
the facade of the Hotel Beverly replaced by advanced technology
and contemporary sophistication.
