Now East Coasters can escape the winter blues and head to sun-filled Palm Springs with JetBlue. Beginning January 14, 2016, the airline will offer seasonal flight service from New York's JFK International Airport to Palm Springs International Airport. Five round-trip flights per week will be available through May 1, 2016.

Moskito Island has gotten a lavish makeover with an eco-resort established by Sir Richard Branson. The property consists of five three-bedroom villas that can accommodate up to 22 guests. It's equipped with a restaurant, beach bar, nature trails, organic garden and orchard, swimming pool and tennis courts. Absolute paradise surrounds visitors with lush greenery and azure waters making the island an ideal Caribbean escape. Remaining environmentally-friendly is Branson's top priority, and the resort is powered by wind and solar energies instead of diesel. The initiative is for Moskito Island to be a model for other islands to cut diesel imports, which will help decrease the adverse effects of climate change and rising sea levels. Sir Richard also wants the island to be a habitat for endangered species and has imported lemurs from around the world in hopes of reviving their population. Reservations are now being accepted for early 2016.

The hotel will offer a full-service restaurant, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and an outdoor heated pool and pool bar on the third-floor sundeck.
