"The Biggest Loser" Comes to Malibu

"Biggest Loser" comes to Malibu, California
Are you looking for a getaway that will allow you to shed pounds, while enjoying an idyllic location? An opening date has been set for the second "The Biggest Loser" fitness resort, to be located on 160 acres in Malibu, CA, not far from where the network's reality weight-loss show is filmed. The first The Biggest Loser resort, which has since rebranded as Fitness Ridge, is located near St. George in Utah, but fitness-minded guests in California will now have the option to check in to this new 80-bed resort beginning on September 26, 2010.

The new getaway is located in the mountains far above the beach community of Malibu and will offer minimum one-week weight-loss programs involving six hours of physical exercise each day, and a roughly 1,200-calorie-per-day diet. The programs will also include nutrition classes, cooking classes and more than twenty fitness and resistance classes offered on a rotating schedule, all based on the boot-camp program the contestants experience on the TV show.

Because this is a resort, there will be pampering, such as massages and manicures, but the catch is that they're only available after you finish your workouts.

Prices range up to $2,700 for the week, depending on accommodations.
