United Airlines Pairs with Master Chef Curtis Stone for
Mile-High Gourmet Dining

Master chef Curtis Stone teams up with United Airlines to create a high-altitude menu
With airline perks being downgraded at supersonic speeds, it’s happy news that United Airlines has enlisted master chef Curtis Stone to create exclusive gourmet dishes. Showcasing fresh, organic ingredients, Stone’s high-altitude menu launched with United Business flights between San Francisco International Airport and Tokyo Narita International Airport. His first selection includes a salad and appetizer combination with an entrée of Niman Ranch braised beef short ribs with beef stock reduction and honey-roasted heirloom carrots and celeriac purée. According to Stone, the idea behind his in-flight meals is to “leave travelers feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.” While celebrity kitchen cuisine has become a bit of an airline trend, United Airlines was instrumental in kicking it off, and not just with its 1999 pairing with Charlie Trotter. The airline has been serving meals in partnership with Trader Vic’s for more than 30 years.
