Uniworld's new super ship: the S.S. Antoinette

Inaugurated with Uniworld's classic Castles along the Rhine tour, the S.S. Antoinette was designed to bring a new class of ship to the cruise industry. This sumptuous river vessel is the creation of Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection in partnership with Red Carnation Hotels, the latter of which provides the expertise of training river cruise staff in boutique hotel standards of service. Because both Uniworld and Red Carnation are family run, personal attention to detail can be found throughout, beginning with Signature Comfort Dishes from A Life in Food, the memoir of Red Carnation founder and president, Mrs. Beatrice Tollman. The concept of the S.S. Antoinette is to provide all of the conveniences of the modern day while embodying the lavish spirit of eighteenth-century France. This opulence begins with a blue sapphire, ten-foot Baccarat chandelier that once hung in New York's legendary Tavern on the Green and now adorns the two-story lobby, serving as the ship's focal point. Additional luxury includes the Salon du Grand Trianon, inspired by the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles, and the Restaurant de Versailles, which pay tribute to the palace's ornamental gardens.
