Great Wine List* Click here for rating key
RN74 is named for the highway that runs through the Burgundy region of France and past some of the country's most notable wine houses. It’s a fitting moniker for a restaurant boasting a wine list that numbers 3,000 bottles, with 60 generally available by the glass, expertly managed by Rajat Parr. The restaurant was designed to feel like the inside of a European train station---albeit a clubby one. There's even a “last bottle” wine board that uses the same flip-letter technology as a vintage train arrival-departure schedule. As guests order bottles, the list flips to update availabilities. The food at RN74 is made to match the wide library of wines. Appetizers might include handmade strozzapreti pasta with duck sausage, Tuscan black kale, porcini-walnut pesto and Parmesan. Main dishes range from grilled mahi mahi with mussels, spinach, green apple and Thai yellow curry to braised short rib accompanied by white polenta, root vegetables, huckleberries and Brussels sprout gremolata. Desserts are solid. The white sesame pot de crème offers a unique twist on a classic dish. Those looking for a wine-only experience with light nibbles can head to the sophisticated, adjoining wine bar and lounge.
